Big (non-QQQuantity) shows coming up. - [11/11/03]
I figure while we're still putting our artses and wills together, we could at least be seeing what the rest of the world is being up to. Keep ourselves involved. Keep our hungry hungry fans satiated.
So there's some hot shit going on in cold cold Boston these days:
November 14th Brighton, MA @ the HOSS (96 Chestnut Hill Ave. #1, around back) 7:30 pm. Mirah w/ the Blow, Anna Oxygen, Balloon Fight. Mirah is always amazing, and the Blow will put on a compelling live 'show,' doubtless. Anna Oxygen has this space girl story/exercise dance party thing she does. I don't know about Balloow Fight, but I saw (almost) this line-up last night, and it was the best show I've been to all year.
Also that night, Seekonk has a record release party at Johnny D's. Mellow sonic beauty, ensemble style, complete with bowed bird cages. They're from Maine and they're really good.
Also that night Devendra Banhart is playing with Alexander McGregor at The Zeitgeist gallery in Inman Square. Both have a sort of a timeless quality about them, like they've been writing songs for centuries. Should be a really good show. It'll be crowed, so get tickets in advance.
